I could see stuff like scizor being popular enough that someone would go out of their way to use one

but no one is going to go do a random as fuck abandoned ship sidequest just to unlock a trade evo item for a shitmon

I'll use shitmons in a playthrough but they have to actually be attainable and not a massive pain in the ass to get. I've done runs with Stantler, unevolved Skitty, Plusle, Furfrou, etc.
