I think it’s X- a Fairy type legend is very fitting for the generation the type is introduced, and Lysandre’s “eternal life” threat is a lot more interesting than a death threat that doesn’t even use the phrase death or die.
Imo you can’t really go wrong between Clauncher/Dragalge or Slurpuff/Dragalge. The exclusives are generally pretty even, but X has the more interesting megas with Pinsir, Aggron, Mewtwo, and Charizard (compared to Heracross Tyranitar, Mewtwo, and CharizardY which don’t change type). Houndoom/Manectric is just personal preference I suppose.
