Real talk, ever since I was a teen I decided that our reality is like a "base reality" constructed by the demiurge so that we (people, who are actually fragments of the One Substance) can experience physics, emotions, good, evil, pleasure, pain, etc. and that when we die our consciousness returns to that One Substance/demiurge and we can choose to live another life but with specific parameters set up based on what our previous consciousness is interested in.

Hell, your current life could be the result of another consciousness deciding, "I spent my life living in squalor in an Indian slum, now I want to know what it's like to be a kid in America," etc.

If I were a god, this is probably how I would construct reality to keep myself entertained for eternity.

I also used to daydream about what it'd be like to live in the Naruto universe but all the characters were recast as people I knew in real life. (I was 13.)

A decidely less-comfy thought than being in the pokémon world.
