Secondly, you highlighted some of the few things from SwSh that could stand out it from other games. I could do the same opposite, but before that, let's analyze what you said:
>"...animation are worse..."Which animations are worse? Do you think the XY or SM animations are worse? Because they look just as good, and the games before XY were not entirely in 3D, so I don't see where you are going (even so, they also had as good animations for sprites movements/3D cutscenes etc).
And here's the biggest problem:
in XY, movements and Amie animations, for example, were new at the time. So XY for sure get extra points for that! SM reused almost all of them, including some new ones for the characters, like expressions. On top of that, for their console (3DS), their price ($ 40) and the kind of game they were (portable console games), XY and SM did ok in that matter. In fact, you didn't see so many people complaining about the animations at that time and that's not a coincidence. The series had also just moved to 3D, so there's that.
Now let's talk about Sword and Shield. The game not only cut unprecedented content with the excuse that it would improve the animations in favor of, but also recycled again (for the third time in a row) most of the animations, not only of movements and Amie (which can be found in the Camp) , as well as some expressions animations added and used in SM(like Hau ~ Hop). And all this costing $60 and being released on a home console.
I mean, even if it had all the Pokémon, taking into account everything said, the series should have progressed in this matter by now. Still, I would say that if they hadn't cut the Pokémon, probably few people would be complaining about the animations.
But as we can see, SwSh certainly can't boast about its animations.
