>>46698203>Legends JohtoMy best bet at this moment. Lost most of my interest in Let's GO Johto when Legends became a thing, since LGJ would likely be just a dumbed-down version of GS/HGSS, much like LGPE, while Legends Johto has potential for a world-expanding game with an interesting story, as well as a fresh experience.
The challenge here is GF remembering all the backstory elements that they created so far (like, do they remember that Mahogany Rocket Hideout used to be a hideout for ninjas?) and can present them without contradicting existing canon too much. But generally, I have no clear vision of how such game is supposed to look like (unlike remake), so they have much liberty and at least story-wise it seems hard to fuck up. Old Johto will always be cool.
>Let's Go JohtoI can see it working, as long as they use Crystal as basis and don't take too much inspiration from HGSS, maybe except for world visuals (I'm not interested in seeing HGSS gameplay/plot additions once again [perhaps except for Pokeathlon, it could be nice on Switch], they aren't an inseparable part of Johto as much as core GSC stuff is). A more faithful, clean-start remake would be more interesting to see for me, especially if it restores stuff from GSC not included in HGSS, giving a new look on them. Also, since Let's GO games are detached from newgen mechanics, it could bring back some forgotten items from the originals.
However, knowing Let's GO cliches, I know they'd waste all that potential and make the game a GSC/HGSS hybrid with most Crystal elements removed (despite declaring to be a Crystal remake), dumbed-down mechanics and lack of attention to detail whatsoever.
>BDSP style remake by a different companyWorst case scenario. Don't see any excuse for such game. Maybe it could have some potential if it uses a similar design philosophy as I mentioned above (but chibi graphics still make it an inferior option). But if it's BDSP but based on HGSS, then fuck it. Don't need such game.
