>>46708175>>46707880>the market value of vintage collectibles won't just suddenly drop.Generally, with any collectable, I expect to see a steady increase in value over the long term. Imo, that's what makes them collectable. There are things that can cause the price to suddenly go up (like when an athlete dies, the value of his autograph can double over night). Also, during economic recessions and downturns, all collectable markets boom--coins, stamps, cards, pretty much everything. In either case, the price will eventually settle in a certain range. To demonstrate this, compare the current price of a Kobe Bryant rookie card to the price of a Jose Fernandez rookie card. Fernandez died in 2016. After his death, the cost of his rookie card rose and then settled, and now it's back up again due to the memeflu recession. Bryant died in 2020 right at the start of the meme flu, and the value of his rookie cards was still going up last time I checked. It never settled, but eventually it will. Same thing happened in 2008.
