Tell me how having Snorlax block a bridge is anywhere near as bad as NPCs constantly namedropping Kanto and the entirety of Alola and Galar basing their identity around it.
The only reason Alola and Galar don't get as much flack is because they have their own snowflake regional gimmick-- even then can you really say that's a good thing?
Kalos made references to other regions without overdoing it. At the very least they're subtle enough to go over your head unless you actually played the Kanto games.
XY also doesn't revolve itself around a stupid regional gimmick that gets dropped outside of Kalos.
