Let's start with its stats. Ridiculously good defensively. Better defensive stats than Shield Forme Aegislash.
And then its typing. A respectable 8 resistances and 3 weaknesses, except its weaknesses are Ground, Electric, and Psychic. What do those types have in common? All of them have something immune to it, so it's super easy to just switch Pex out of a predicted SE move. It can also use Black Sludge and is immune to poison.
And speaking of switching out, its ability. Regenerator. Switching is already the best defensive tool in singles and a good switch is rewarding on its own. Regenerator makes it even more rewarding by healing 1/3 of Pex's HP.
And now let's look at its movepool.
It has Recover, so it doesn't even need to switch out to heal.
You think you can set up on it because it's so passive? Fuck you, it has Haze.
Maybe you want to switch in a physical attacker. Enjoy getting hit with a Scald, which burns 30% of the time, by which I mean 100% of the time.
Or maybe when you switch, you get hit with a Knock-Off and lose your item, getting crippled for the rest of the battle.
And Pex has not one (1), not two (2), but three (3) ways to poison you. Toxic, for the classic poisoning. Toxic Spikes, to poison you for having the nerve to switch. And Baneful Bunker, so it can poison you while also protecting itself. Pick your poison, literally in this case.
When it comes to stall, Pex doesn't just have one thing. It has EVERYTHING that a stallmon could possibly want.
