>>46722669>They have a character creator for the player with hundreds of options but no body type variety>The NPCs have plenty of body types but everyone from a trainer class looks identical>Any other company would have merged these, allowing players more variety for their characters by having more base models to choose from and giving NPCs more variety by at least swapping colors or minor things like hair styles (if keeping easy class recognition is that important) or generating every NPC with the character creator for lots of variety then tweak them to fix the pure randomized garbage>Battle Revolution, while low on options, already took this approach where players and NPCs had all the same optionsWhen will main series get its shit together? I understand the focus is on the monsters, but that's been becoming less true as time goes on so instead of doing one thing great and everything else being okay we're getting meh to crap all around. Pokemon aren't to scale, we can't even pet them anymore, many of them have awkward idle animations, attack animations rarely line up properly unless it's a signature move or just a particle effect of uncertain origin, there's still plenty of generic void battle backgrounds, trainers are clones, the player has no emotions, environments are barebones unless it's just a set piece you can't interact with, and the render distance for pokemon is way too close causing bad pop-in. If they're going to dump all the resources into graphics instead of actually giving us stuff to do they could at least make it look good so the endless cutscenes and minimal game play is at least interesting to look at.
