>>46719872>you should be restricted to using the amount of pokemon the opponent is, then you can't just overwhelm them with numbers. Not OP, but I already do this (on top of keeping lvl parity with the AIs) - it actually helps a lot, but *only* if the NPCs actually have proper teams... most of them don't, obviously.
>>46719831>route leadersBased idea - I only seen it in polished crystal - but it's a very nice feature.
It shouldn't be to hard to implement though - all trainers already have flags so tying them to one NPC per route should be rather straightforward.
>>46719869>6 pokemon, perfect ivs, held items, they all have 3 full restoresObvious baits a side, the real way to do it is to not reinvent the wheel - the games already have rivals and gyms and whatnot, so just look how many mons they have - and give the NPCs something a bit below it.
That's actually the type of hack I've always looked for - but most (all?) go the GF route and just try to shove all the difficulty of the hack/game in like 8 gym battles, 4 elites, and some rival battle here and there... all I'm saying the mooks deserve some love too (plus, most of them don't actually have to mono-type, and so it's easier to make them interesting to engage with).
