Eerie impulse actually has some usage in VGC now, mostly on Porygon2. Being able to shut down a legendary, dynamaxed special attacker is good.

Most Grass types get Growth, which is better because it doubles its effect in the sun, and most Rototiller learners aren't even Grass type.

Eerie Impulse is actually very common on Raichu, Thundurus, Regieleki, Tapu Koko, and Porygon2 in VGC's current season. Having a guaranteed targeted special attack drop by two stages is pretty important when things can snowball if you have no way to handle a Dynamax and restricted Pokemon are running rampant

That move seems like it could seriously fuck up Sun cores in Doubles at least, even if only situationally. Put it on meta relevant mon like Amoonguss or Volcarona and I can see it getting some niche usage.

Why the fuck would you make a mon whose entire conception and signature move is in shutting down Pokemon who have set up but it doesn't get Unaware or Prankster and has a stat spread like this, preventing it from outspeeding anything or tanking anything

I went to test a doubles team with parabolic charge + psych up heliolisk and calm mind tapu koko, and even with just a mild 65 BP, you pretty much go back to full after draining all 3 pokemon on the field. If the move could actually kill anything it'd be great.
