The Pokemon franchise is a masterclass in world-building, compelling gameplay, and light-hearted adventure. It combines superb (dare I say, unrivalled) character design with flawless attention to environmental (and thematic) detail. There is not a single Pokemon that seems out-of-place with either of the the games' mechanics or lore. It cannot be disputed that Pokemon has earn its juggernaut status by sheer merit.
