>>46734077Miltank was great - if all the gym leaders were like Whitney (or even fucking Bugsy with her/his/whatever-it-is Fury Cutter Scyther) the franchise will be better.
> Create a challenging trainer battle.Ok. let's start be defining what's a "challenging trainer" because a lot of folk don't seem to get this.
It's supposed to be *beatable* you dumb cunts.
Just not *trivial*.
(I'm looking at you:
>>46734098I know you're joking, but anyone who played a hack before knows there more than enough idiots that think that way... they play a gotcha game with their player - trying to "outsmart" him and create an impossible battle... somewhere along the way they forget the player is supposed to win in the end. they're horrible DMs.)
Anyhow, *beatable* but not *trivial*.
That's what this pink girl is.
That's what the Fury Cutter Scyther is.
That's NOT whats Brock's shit colored Gyarados is.
And most gym leaders are closer to Brock than to Whitney/Bugsy - in that they are *trivial*.
What makes Whitney good is that you have plenty of ways to beat her (status her, bring rocks, the Machop, etc...) - but you can't just waltz in there without having any plan and win most of the times. but she's still **beatable**.
Ultimately, you can't just look at a trainer in a vacuum - it's all about what's mons and TMs you can get before you can face it - and how many of them can actually be used to win.
(it should never be ALL of them; and it should never be just one of them either).
