Can someone tell me how it went from Uber to UU just because of this minor stat nerf?
Did it truly deserve to be banned in gen 7 with all the megas and z-moves running around?
Gen 7 meta seemed way more inhospitable to it than what we have now
I'm just a 1500 elo shitter in ou so i'm genuinely curious

That's one factor, but it's not the entirety. King's Shield also got nerfed, as it now only drops the foe's Attack by 1 stage instead of 2. Dragapult exists now, which is not good for Aegislash. It also lost Pursuit, which was a good option previously.

It's more so the still massive powercreep that exists even without megas and z-moves, and with King's Shield nerfed you can't force switches and play as effective Mind games with it.

Toxic sets are also worse because shit like Corviknight or Toxapex is on every other team. It was way easier to make progress with Sub Toxic sets in earlier gens on top of having higher BST and a better King's Shield. Also people should mentioned that Dragapult often has Infiltrator which means even behind a sub it still scares it oot.

If anything, nerfing it helped it. Now it's not banned and can be an amazing UU mon instead of a mediocre Uber mon.

I'm not saying GF benevolently nerfed it on purpose so it could be unbanned in Smogon. I'm just saying that was the consequence of their actions, intentional or not.
