There's a pokemon otherkin in that town with the fairy gym. Also some diglets talking to each other in a back ally.
It'd be good if the game wasn't devoid of so much else, specifically modern game mechanics and design.

The Master Dojo and that wacky family (fallen NEET ex-Champion, golddigger woman & autistic child) was the only soulful thing in the entire Galar.

Finally some good character creation. And Mustard is a far better Champion than Leon (and obviously Peony, whose ex-Champion status is totally forced and meaningless and merely serves as an excuse to put him in the Star Tournament).

Of course it does. Every pokemon game has at least some soul. Unfortunately the bad just happens to outweigh the good in most of the recent games.
