I just want to write little jingles for my fiction & fanfiction.
I have trouble memorizing which key is which note and can only follow the most basic baby beginner songs, usually IF they have letters on the notes. fucking time signatures I barely understand but seem to complicate it needlessly at this stage, and key signatures just are easy to forget or keep track of the line their on not that. 5 lines & 4 spaces is just too many and music isnt even good unless you have the whole range of both clefs, which I've had to go over in highlighter the 4 ranges of C-B on the keyboard. I'm also aware of major & minor scales, the circle of fifths, and the ionic-locrian modes but that shit is neigh meaningless to me.
sorry for the long, slightly off topic vent but I never get to talk about this shit. I've had this keyboard for 2 years now and trying to teach myself but its slow which I expected. pretty much feel like you need to be taught early on through school or have a tutor or else you're fucked, but I'm not doing all that I dont plan to make money off it anyway. I know kids can do this shit and I feel like a retard a lot of the time, but I'm probably not cut out to be great at it and I've always been a bit of a slow thinker etc.
