The story is mediocre, the characters have no actual development or personality, and the lack of any significant replay ability hurts it. 99% of the time you are either going to breed for Pokémon or go into Max Raid battles. This game has two things going for it. One, it is significantly more user-friendly than before, as you can easily acquire trade evolutions, fully evolved Pokémon, items, etc., on top of easy leveling up and TMs/TRs. Two, the Pokémon selection is very good, both new and old. Adding new and rare type combinations to the game is a significant plus. Still, these games are mediocre overall.
