But Platinum did fix almost all of its problems?
Most notably the unfinished overworld that was due to the lack of time to make new tilesets.

The most frustrating part is that they had a "fixed" version of the game to borrow shit from, but they still didn't, even though it would have taken barely any extra effort.
Hypothetically if we had never gotten Platinum, these remakes would be fine. Maybe the eventual XY remakes will end up being good since they have no polished version to ignore.

This is basically true of gens 5+. BW got sequels, not remakes. Gen 6 got nothing. Gen 7 got an AU remake that majorly changed parts of the story and alot of people prefer the original story. Gen 8 got a DLC expansion, which were just two tacked on completely separate areas.
