Their feelings get hurt incredibly easily because Iris has a habit of teasing Ash and she doesn't figuratively suck him off, some even get offended by her, trying to insult her by insisting that she's pretending to be Misty, even at times calling her "diet" Misty. I personally don't watch the anime but it's very clear to me what goes on in their heads with the same complaints being brought up nonstop. Not liking or hating a character is fine but some of these people go to such great lengths to demonstrate how much they hate a character.
Same sort of deal for characters like Serena and Zinnia. People hate Serena because of how "polarizing" she is in the anime for being a shoehorned love interest for Ash so you have autists (and shippers which is its own brand of obsessive autism) on both sides throwing shit at the fan like monkeys over things that literally don't matter, then you have both sides unable to control their autism so they are clashing non stop here. In Zinnia's case, its because she's apparently a mary sue who never gets punished from her actions recklessly endangering others. The Zinnia one is also weird to me because most of this series' main antagonists go on unpunished just like her. Justice is never served to Giovanni, Archie/Maxie, Ghetsis, Guzma, Lusamine, etc., other than a slap on the wrist at worst. Perhaps it's because she was mean to Steven and the scientists at the space center, I can't think of anything else. It's a Pokemon game too so it's not like anything bad was ever going happen when the player character always fixes every problem 100%.
Me personally I can't imagine getting irrationally angry over the actions of a fictional character but some of these people out there are unable to control themselves.
