>>46752389The more I've thought about it, the more I've realised him rushing isn't even the biggest issue. Dumb? Sure, Pokemon villains are dumb. Just a little more fleshing out to show his impatience and ego causes him to make mistakes would have made it acceptable by series standards. The real problem is the entire rest of the story. Nothing has any real presence outside occasional dogs law dumps. Yell are a horrendous bad guy team, they're just nobody cheerleaders for a rival who has zero issues with you. Idiots defend Hop cause they pulled a "rival is sad about losses but learns not to" again as if it means jack shit.
So we are left with league stuff, most assumed there would be a corruption scandal and there just wasn't. Bede is meant to build up that they are bad but his actions are so random and then he gets dismissed/feminised. Rose is sort of generically nice to you a few times, no one gives you any hassle and then suddenly dark dog lore day. Rose should have been giving you hassle, secretly funding Yell and rigging brackets to force the outcome he wanted. Build up that he is setting the stage for his master plan, rather than us luckily being lore dumped that the darkest day is a thing.
It is a GSC level story with SM levels of interruption
