Anyway, if you were honestly using those images to try to prove something I literally wouldn't know where to start.
Firstly, you ignore the matter of Agency that was being discussed and, contrary to what was wrongly said by someone, agency isn't an abstract term like "soul" or "soulful". But this was made clear already.
Secondly, ignoring agency and talking about "optional" places purely:
1) You mark the moone/sunne lake/altar, which as far as I remember has absolutely nothing (to optionally explore) there. Why?
2) Those parts of routes 14 and 17, Outer Space and Blush Mountain are tiny af.
3) Mt. Hokulani isn't only a tiny area but also a curved line.
Haina desert is ok, not so much for its "size" but for the way it works. Poni would also be ok if its optional parts weren't clearly aimed at the post-game, if you complete it before that then there will be absolutely nothing substantial to explore after, so it's a bad drawback either way (either having nothing to explore post-game or having less to explore before).
In any case, SM's problem of exploration isn't just about optional areas solely and exclusively, but also about agency and I do think it's mainly about the region as a whole being very small if we do use the player as a scale.
