>>46764639I don't see what you're gaining from playing cynical. Of course I was talking about compare the whole game in the matter of what was being discussed prev.: exploration.
But since you're at it:
>More PokémonShould not be otherwise. On the other hand it introduced far less new Pokémon. Regional forms are just reskins.
> Better Story and charactersThat's right
> Better musicThat's subjective. Technically speaking the music of the series don't have big lows.
> Harder difficultySM is as hard as RS and Emerald. Harder than ORAS. USUM is harder than both.
> Better QoL ChangesThat could not be different since they usually are staples and RSE came back then years ago. ORAS came before also. All game introduces some of them.
>Customization That's a good thing for sure, but we should remember RSE/ORAS also had features SM/USUM don't
> onlineIt's unfair to compare. Also, ORAS online was better even with it being a predecessor, when it should be the other way around
> many many more There's not many more
The graphics also are better than ORAS (should not be otherwise when comparing to RSE)
On the other hand, it offers far worse exploration, even worse than XY. A worse online as also commented. Less new Pokémon. More handhold. Cut triple and rotation battles. Cut the National Dex. RotomDex should be optional. The cutscenes skippabble. USUM was also a shame as a third version, they said it would have "a lot of features" but it is easily the worst enchancement version they ever delivered, even the story is slightly worse than SMs. Rainbow Rocket plot is just forced fanservice. Legendaries use generic rooms and generic backgrounds just like ORAS. And there also other parameters to judge, such as content.
If we were to judge timelessly, USUM certainly looks better than RS and ORAS, but not better than Emerald for sure. Now, if we were to judge each game by what it represented for its time, USUM would be well below RSE and close below ORAS.
