Havent been here in a while
All threads are on a loop, this board is embarassing.
So, I am going tontepeat myself until It catches on.
Pokemon only had 3 generations. That's right! Now I know that pokechads live in isolation from the gaming community, but slight changes in the tiles or moving to a different console does not make up a Gen.
>Gen1Red/Green : The original games
>Gen2Silver/Crystal...BasedSilver/Platinum...etc : Improvements
>Gen3X/Y...UltraSun...Shield etc : The 3-D baby era with clear real-world comparisons, less focus on Japan and exploration.
>Gen4...?Legends Arceus..? Fully open world, overworld battles, deeper environmental interactions.
Really, if you want to show somebody new what pokemon is, the best examples are Red-HeartGold-UltraSun. These are both representative of their Gen and show great differentiation between them.
Tl;dr Yes UltraSun with its wormhole cities, alternative Giovanni Blue people and alien beasts IN THEIR NATIVE HABITAT, makes for a very memorable game.
