Designing a category to exclude megas doesn't make them better than what you put in it. I can say "megas were the first of the battle gimmicks that are in 3D games, used through a bracelet or accessory, and removed from the series 1 or 2 gen later" or I can just say they were the first of the regional gimmicks, since while they weren't exclusive to Kalos they did originate there, and therefore are "regional" in the same way that regional forms are. You're arguing over wording that is used for the sake of convenience as if it makes megas not a gimmick like the other.
