Legends will have the MC writing the folk tales that appear in moder-day Sinnoh anon. There will be no direct correlation between BDS and Legends however.
They TOLD you they were two separate entries, that Legends would have pokémon appear that do not appear in modern Sinnoh. Stop thinking there will be connectivity, the nip website proves it's SP only.

from what I understand it only means there will be no online interactions like online battles but maybe there could be something you can transfer to yourself between games like it was with the event Manaphy in Ranger
