I think Battle Frontiers are dumb. You spend a whole game making a team of your dudes, and then you show up to an area where you can't make them stronger and you can't record pokemon on your pokedex. Sure you can battle but how often is a battle going to be decided because of one stupid RNG crit? What's the point?

Getting the Frontier Symbols/Prints. They are like achievement stamps. Also getting Battle Points to spend on items that make your Pokémon better or help you add more Pokémon to your roster. Also giving those Pokémon you already raised some purpose after beating the game's story.

Battle towers are just battles after battles after battles with nothing interesting
Frontiers are 5 unique battle styles that can be pretty fun, Pyramid was great, as was Factory and Pike, but the Dojo one sucked, that’s pure RNG

Pokemon's main story should embrace gimmick battles more. Each gym should have a weird rule or format, and in the post game they get upgraded

you can try to do that yourself. My last game I didn't use more pokemon than the gym leader had, and I avoided using more items than them to keep it equal, it's basic but it makes a difference by cutting away your safety net.

Yes, because no matter how consistent your team is, it can and likely will encounter a string of insurmountable bad luck. And when you lose just a single battle because of that, you lose everything because of the streak nature of facilities.
RNG + streak = anti-skill, frustrating game design
I don't think just removing streaks altogether like SwSh did is the solution though, I think Pokémon Stadium had the right idea with giving you a continue if you score a perfect win.

I never really enjoy self imposed restrictions, cause to me a lot of the fun is seeing how the game changes to fit a system. Though DQ11 style Draconian difficulty settings are neat cause you can modify the game a bit. You can even make it so towns people sometimes lie about important info

I think you should be able to pay for continues with Battle Points, with the cost increasing every time until you quit the streak or lose and don't have enough BP to continue. Like for the first loss it'd cost 25 BP to continue, for the second one it'd be 50, for the third one it'd be 100, and then 200 and so on.
