>>46775668>dark type isn't related to literal darknessOh no I turned the lights off in my room my Abra is in danger!!!
Literally every dark type (bar a small handful) are dark type because they use tricky/underhanded tactics or because they're related to grim/dark folklore.
>Sableye lead quiet lives deep inside caverns. They are feared, however, because these Pokémon are thought to steal the spirits of people when their eyes burn with a sinister glow in the darkness.>It appears when it senses an impending natural disaster. As a result, it was mistaken as a doom-bringer.>Vicious in nature, it drives Pidgey from their nests and feasts on the eggs that are left behind.>Stories say those who tried to catch Zoroark were trapped in an illusion and punished.>Its cute act is a ruse. When victims let down their guard, they find their items taken. It attacks with sharp claws.>This Pokémon's sinister, flame-like aura will consume the spirit of any creature it hits. Victims become burned-out shadows of themselves.>It responds to movement by attacking. This scary, three-headed Pokémon devours everything in its path!>When it gets down on all fours as if to beg for forgiveness, it's trying to lure opponents in so that it can stab them with its spear-like hair.>Mega Evolution also affects its brain, leaving no other function except its destructive instinct to burn everything to cinders.Literally none of these dex entries mention anything about actual darkness, you dumb faggot. They all mention either dark types using underhanded tactics/methods, or being perceived as such.
>B-but the pokedex entries aren't canon!!!Most, if not all of these things have been shown in some form of Pokemon media.
