Is Arceus REALLY the Pokemon God who created the universe or is it just a Sinnoh legend?
We know for a fact that some pokedex entries are pure bullshit so what if the whole story about Arceus being a God isn't actually 100% accurate?

Cyrus also states that what they need is not Arceus itself but its power explaining that Arceus's power might not actually currently BE in Arceus(or the avatar we get of it anyways) but divided in the mons it created(which he thought were Dialga and Palkia).

Dialga and palkia may not be as powerful as the legends say. Consider their portrayal vs that of kyogre and groudon. Cyrus was able to imprison and control them, while team aqua and magma weren't able to do that for kyogre and groudon.

Eternatus can only warp space, not time, and not to the same extent that Palkia can. Palkia can literally shuffle locations together.

Dialga's ability to stop, rewind, fast-forward, and travel through time is on a whole other level.

Celebi not being able to time travel because Dialga stopped the flow of time has been a plot point, so Celebi is dependent on Dialga for its powers to even work

The true answer is that none of it matters because Pokemon games barely have a plot, much less do they have an ongoing narrative relying on the stakes of other games, so Arceus "power" will never be important outside of his own game, and even then, it barely was.

It is still entirelly irrelevant. Narratively Palkia and Dialga have absolutely zero difference from any other "rare monster that the generic evil team wants to do their generic nebulous plan", thus, Arceus is also completely irrelevant. Can it create worlds? Is it just mythology? Who gives a shit? Certainly not Gamefreak, because the very next game will introduce a story about a guy who thinks he can take over the world with a legendary dragon that completely ignores the fact other legendaries in other regions that would definitely come to fight him exist. Ooops.
