Firstly, how the hell does being invested in characters you've known for most of your life make you a "manchild autist". The fact that people are so invested in fictional monsters is actually a testament to the previous quality of the franchise. Caring about the things Game Freak created is only a problem when people either genuinely believe that Pokemon are real, or if they use Dexit as an excuse to hurt real life people with death treats/false sexual assault accusations/etc. But even then, from what I've seen, the ANTI-BBND were far worse in that regard.
Honestly the whole, dev time thing makes sense. However that's one of the things BBND was talking about "give them more time" "stop rushing out games" "we don't want yearly releases". Also, the dev time thing just means all the previous reasons: New Models, New animations, Game Balance, Fitting the Region; etc, were all bullshit.
And finally, none of that excuses Home. There was absolutely no reason for how it was implemented, either let us do stuff with our Pokemon which would actually justify Home's existence, or just have SwSh be compatible with Bank so people don't accidently trap their Pokemon for the foreseeable future.

Them eventually adding more features to Home makes sense, I would have preferred they'd wait until they actually ironed everything out with Home before doing Dexit but what's done is done.
