Desktops are a beast but they're no longer affordable. Also I'm bitter because my 1080ti kicked the bed 1 year after warranty (4 years of use) and if I want a new GPU I have to spend 2-3x msrp like pokemon cards. I'm just using a 1050ti for now. Also I have a ryzen 1800 and gen 1 ryzen was such a beast of a release but current ryzen is the same cost as Intel so fuck them.

for the first time i'm curious about the story and lore "explored" in each tcg expansion. in some instances there's obvious themes and you get a sense of what's going down via action pictured across different cards. i just opened a bunch of double blaze and loved seeing all the shit with rocket grunts and giovanni. paints a narrative with very broad strokes. any anons care to share their favourite thematic story scenarios or interpretations

Yeah, the 3 card packs don't have code cards, so they can easily be weighed. Unless you see the employee open a fresh box, assume someone's come through and weighed them and bought all the heavy packs. My local dollar tree even lets this one dude set up his scales at a closed register and go through everything they have, I've seen him at it a couple of times.

If they came from a tin or new dollar store box they're ok. The dragonite and salamance tins with 10 dollar store packs in them usually have some really good hits, I've pulled a charizard evolutions holo from a salamence tin.

Also I've been able to get a few completely new full dollar pack boxes and every single one has had a rainbow rare along with some other really good hits like some good tag teams or full art trainers. These boxes are great if you know for sure they are new and include all packs, probably better than booster boxes. I have a couple dollar stores that are giving me first dibs of their pokemon cards so thats all I really buy now.

i'm not sure what the cause is, because in most other sets (shining legends, hidden fates, etc.) the english set adequately replicates the effect of its japanese counterpart (and generally does it better, in my opinion), but in shining fates, the effect is completely flat.

It's much better to be middle class in the USA than anywhere else. If you're making 20$/hr and your employment is footing the bill for health insurance you'll do just fine assuming your workspace isn't in a major metro and you need to commute 3hrs a day though many people make that sacrifice.

Yeah they take profits but exactly, biggest spenders. You get 100 dollars for a card somewhere else but 120-130 for it on eBay, the fees kinda work out. Unless you sell at market price or below it. But then again, might be hard to sell your card somewhere else where on eBay you can sell it in a week no matter what.
