>>46778626>Honestly if you think about it the story has never really been good in any Pokemon games.Disagree. Was playing FRLG and Yellow a while back and thought they were really good. I made a thread about it here and people were saying that what I was talking about was world building and not "plot" which is what people are really talking about when they say "the story", but regardless, I feel like RBY should be counted as having a good story.
GSC is up in the air, there really is no plot. The Rocket Revival is flimsy as fuck and in the grand scheme of things takes no time at all. There are 16 badges in the game and I think you finish Team Rocket before you have eight. Maybe even seven (I think its eight) meaning there's a huge portion of the game with no plot, except maybe Suicune I guess? I dunno.
DPPt's story isn't bad to me, I liked how you, Barry and Rowan's assistant felt like a little squad. Z-Fighters vibes. I'm Goku, naturally.
Gen V duology is generally regarded as good.
>The atmosphere of the region speaks to me and I see the "chosen one" calamitous plot as a brief detour. It's been a while since I've replayed them and I guess I'm reluctant to because I dislike the green accents to Brendan and May's clothes in Emerald, even though I think May's shirt is nice. But I like how every Gym Leader looked in RSE; their designs immediately struck and stuck with me and I think they're awesome. I like the Norman thing. I like Steven and his Elite Four even if Glacia and Drake are a little whatever (Technically Sydney too, but when I was a kid I thought he was a Winstrate for some reason) and I like a lot of the Pokemon.
