Playing Gen 1 or 2 without Pokemon Stadium means you're missing half the experience.
>massive increase to the postgame, especially for Gen 1
>seeing your bros in 3D
>playing the games on the big screen with speed up functions (they officially put speed up functions into an emulator on a first party game just to help Pokemon fans grind)
>2's school to help all fans learn type matchups, egg moves, etc.
>Oak's Lab provides players with tons of Pokemon and item storage, making up for Gen 1 and 2's built in storage options being lackluster, also allows for filtering and sorting specifically to help you do stuff like find out which of your Dratini has the best Speed IVs, etc.
>gift Pokemon, in Stadium 1 players without someone to trade with can still get stuff like more Eevees or Starters without trading
>accepted by GF themselves as the official place for link/tournament battles and thus is Pokemon's first true outlet for competitive battling
>then at the end, as a cute bonus, minigames to play with the squad
I honestly believe that if you're playing Gen 1 or 2, you should be playing them in tandem with the Stadium games. They add so much to the experience, especially for Gen 1. Gen 1 has no postgame? Well, have you tried beating Gen 1 and then going on to 100% Stadium 1 with that file? Seriously, that's like double or maybe even triple the playtime there working on teams and battling in Stadium.
