Too many romhacks fall into the trap of giving everything under the sun dual-typings to make them more unique, because monotype Pokemon are so inherently boring. I wish more would use signature moves/abilties to spice them up.

I remember the original, and there was a reboot recently, so it has gotten some attention. Unfortunately SpinMaster's communication with the fanbase makes Gamefreak's look good.

That's the thing though. Once it takes damage, whether that be a light breeze or even Stealth Rocks, it's back to being a shitmon. I just need fair coverage and an ability that can support it for longer than one turn. Drought + Solar Beam could absolutely make it a monster despite mono fire being such an irredeemable typing. Honestly, doesn't even need stat changes either if it gets that deadly combo.

There are plenty of ways to deal with Stealth Rock and hazards. I think Blasting Soul does at decent job at giving ol' Typhlosionrino a buff that complements its niche. (Though making the effect last until 50% HP might make it a bit better without being broken).
Also, I think Typhlosion does get actual coverage in the Radical Red (Either Earth Power of Scorching Sands).
