It’s definitely not going to be a flop. I’m half expecting it to be another sleeper hit like Animal Crossing what with COVID cases racking up and countries shutting down again.

And the fact that it has alternate paths for every course, with a day, night, and evening cycle, with more Pokémon appearing the more you progress, I’m sure the replay value will be through the roof.

I'm excited for it because I want to see the Pokemon's lives fleshed out more. It seems like a waste to only have these cool creatures fight each other in arenas.

We'll see how they improve from the Wii version.

The difference here dipshit is Animal Crossing has the capacity for you to invest several hundreds of hours in it and still have shit to do, especially since you can play with friends. Snap won't. What the fuck is there to do once you've beaten it and see all the cool stuff besides chase higher scores on pictures? You REALLY think people are going to invest 300 hours into this shit to get a slightly better Meganium pic? Come on now.

The one big hope for it is updates/dlc or it being very very mod-able. If they're using the same models as the mainline games for Pokemon I could see people actually creating simple tracks with anything missing from the game.

It'll be great for anyone that wants a good score attack, and everyone else will stop playing it once they reach the credits. It's the same problem Platinum games have. It's also arguably true for something like the Mario games, given how much postgame content they've been putting in over the last decade or so. Heck, Pokemon was like that for a while, before they started running out of time to even finish the game, let alone anything extra. Basically, there's a lot of game there if you want it, but most people don't actually want to play video games, I've found.

Ehh, no. Part of the magic of the original was being a child and finding Pokémon in natural habitats and with scripted interactions that you could potentially manipulate. I’m sure you’ll be able to do similar things but the “light up” ball looks fucking retarded like it’s an animation forcer that encourages people to pose a scene then share and like other photos because they can use these things to get the photos just right. Core mechanics should not be focused on “multiplayer” and interactions between Pokémon need to be plentiful and soulful or else this is just straight up garbage. I don’t need rivals, just give me the camera and let me shoot.
