>>46811747As a kid I played BW1 to death and disliked BW2 for being praised despite not adhering to my fanfic and what I wanted. I said there was no way it could be better than BW1 based off of the story alone. This extended to XY when those games inevitably released.
I'm older now and not only do I recognize BW2 to be generally superior to its predecessor, but after replaying Y version, I realize that the actual premise of that story had the makings to be better than the BW duology. Not to mention it was much comfier and much more in line with Pokemon as a whole.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that N's execution is dog shit but he's really awkwardly implemented into the game. The character they were going for demands more work and thought put into the franchise writing as a whole than they were willing to/able to give. Because he's such a focal point to the plot, once you start to notice it, everything begins to collapse around him and it becomes hard to take the plot of Gen 5 seriously. After many years, I get why a few people used to say this kind of thing back then.
With that being said, Team Flare looks retarded. It's a bit of a step down from Team Plasma, who look awesome in both iterations. Malva being a part of their group was awesome but almost nothing is done with it.
