Both - The Sevii Islands and Emerald's Battle Frontier - bored me out of my mind. No one nostalgiajerks about gen 4's Battle Zone and other crap, but these two always get mentioned as oh so important. How come?

How long have you been on this board? No one here plays or let alone finishes any of the battle facilities. Battling is the least interesting part about pokemon, especially against NPCs.

Because Emerald's Battle Frontier got a dedicated season in the anime where many gen 4 pokemon were shown before we even knew Diamond and Pearl names, mostly related to the rare gamecube locked johtomons and also for both BF and Sevii's case it was the first time after GSC that we got actual postgame areas with the former having iconic buildings with cool trainers tougher than the E4.

The Battle Zone really wasn't big compared to the entirety of Sevii or the Battle Frontier. There were diverse routes but the only thing that was different about them is that they had different Pokemon on them. Sevii had entire questlines and secrets to find, as well as meaningful item locations and entire mechanics locked just to the area (minigames, berry regen, Trainer Tower,).
