Anyone else ever try VGC but just feel like the format has battles that are too short / too gimmicky?

It feels like such a snowball effect type meta which is why I prefer smogon singles

Please no stupid ass fake meta vs vgc arguments

I like it.
It's quick, has tons of layers of strategy (especially because it's doubles), meme teams aren't as bad as you may think and I'm just not that big a fan of singles anymore. Smogon 6v6 takes super long, 1v1 doesn't have much variety as 2v2 (on the otherside the Smogon ACTUAL 1v1 metagame is actually really fun) and the tons of rocks and wish passing is just horrid.

It honestly depends on the matchup. Most battles from my experience last 20-30 turns because Bulky Offense is always the most common playstyle, and it's also the most effective one against Stall. Hyper Offense will either bust open stall and finish the game within 20 turns or fuck up its setup and it's over. And of course Balance and Stall facing off one another or each other usually eats up time.

Yeah most games are around 30 turns, subtract the lead turns and u-turn pivoting and that’s like 15-20 turns you gotta think
