Pokemon evolution > DQM fusion (no evolution, you throw away two monsters for a new one, now I would have put this under Digimon if it didn't allow for so much customization for the monster and if it didn't have interesting cases like mumboh jumboe) > Digimon evolution (similar to pokemon's but less coherent so the monster's growth is less natural) > SMT fusion (monsters are nothing but tools you must throw away, emotional connection near impossible, less customization than DQM)
