As for the rest of the sand team, they dont necessarily need to take advantadge of sand, they'd just need to have synergy with those that do use it. For singles, pokemon like clefable or mandibuzz can still avoid sand damage thanks to their abilities. And if you are playing in vgc, pokemon like landorus and dracozolt are decent picks. Gastrodon or Cradily are decent water immunities, aiding against the type most sand teams are more vulnerable against.
