Alola in and of itself is derivative of the Orange Islands, complete with its own version of the Orange Crew.
It is something of a departure from the series standard, but this has little to do with pandering to Kanto in specific, since Alola panders to Kanto more than Hoenn and Sinnoh. The departure from the series formula comes in the form of its guided tour approach to its visual novel-esque narrative and the consecutive island hopping you do, as opposed to traversing one continuous landmass.
>>46838454Complaining about a forced encounter with a Pidgey makes you sound just as ridiculous as the other dumbass in the thread raving about how innovative Trials are even though they're still basically Gyms. Except that guy is baiting and you're being serious. Get a grip anon.
>the game feels unfinished and rushed with lots of areas cutYes it does, but what does that have to do with Kalos' sense of identity? I didn't say that XY were perfect or even great. Actually, they're a tragic waste of potential. Little of that has to do with Kanto though.
>it doesn't help that a lot of megas where kantomons specially 2 megas for charizard and mewtwoIt was probably for the best to test this new concept with older monsters. Charizard and Mewtwo are some of the most popular monsters from Generation 1, so they were given two on purpose as an advertisement gimmick. This doesn't impact the quality of the game and it really shouldn't irritate you as much as it does.
