How did the misconception that fainted Pokemon are unconscious persist for so long when both the game and the anime show this not to be the case? The game says they "have no energy left to battle", and the anime regularly shows them getting knocked out and declared unable to battle by the ref before getting back up a few seconds later, too tired to battle anymore, but still conscious and able to move.
