Can someone explain to me what makes Teleport so powerful? Slow Baton Passing was rarely a thing to get teammates in safely back when it was legal and slow U-Turns and Volt Switches aren't the best either, so why is everyone dicksucking Teleport now? It doesn't do damage or anything so I genuinely don't understand.

Teleport is just an easier way to switch that happens to work well on the same mons as Regenerator and boots. Other switching options don't have as much crossover with the better abilities.

Slow Teleport on a mon that can recover health means a pokemon can tank a hit from a pokemon that counters it, get out of the matchup without losing the oncoming mon a turn, and then heal the tanked damage either before it leaves the field with Wish or in the party with Regenerator.
Essentially it means you can change out pokemon without taking a free hit on the incoming mon nearly 100% of the time.

Because unlike slow Baton Passers and slow U-Turners/Volt Switchers slow Teleporters are actually REALLY slow-ass and bulky son of bitches with plenty of recovery between actual recovery moves AND Regenerator.

Imagine if you could bring in Deoxys-Attack on the field, but with 0 risk of anything besides slow/priority KOing it.
Slow baton pass was not common since baton pass chains would be dead by Taunt or by KOing 1 Pokemon before they got any boosts up.

Because Teleport has low priority and is usually found on tanky pivots with abilities revolving around healing while switching, your tanky pivot switches out after being hit (and recovers any lost health and recovers from status while doing so), allowing the Pokémon you just sent out to not be hit as soon as it’s out on the field.

Slow volt switch and u-turn are situationally better than fast. It allows you to switch in a sweeper or otherwise squishy Pokémon without them taking a hit for free

With Teleport, the teleporter is guaranteed to take the hit and bring the next mon in safely.
This can be the difference between a check and a counter.
