Like maybe at the time when the current gen was still gen 4 it was REALLY really good but replaying it now years later just shows how deeply flawed the games still are. Its just a more prettier romp through johto, many of the same issues of the originals still persists and morimoto just added a lot of extra fluff that the fanbase misconstrues as value. It made it super appealing at the time but not anymore. I dont care about Pokeatholon, I dont care about sprites following me, I care about a smooth level curve and a region that isnt a ghost town with utter shitmons. Nostalgia and pearl clutching be damned.
