He's a purist retard who doesn't understand how Pokémon can benefit from activities that lean into other gameplay styles or genres than the stale-ass turn-based JRPG battles. Possibly the kind of person that actually plays Pokémon games for the sake of the battles rather than for the sake of the Pokémon. There are quite a few of these on /vp/.

I was so disappointed by Secret Bases in ORAS because they were the same size as in the original games. I expected way more space, multiple floors, and no limit on decorations. But they just did the bare minimum with it.

also true, but the limit of mons base traners can carry killed it for good. They didn't do the bare minimum, because capping the mons is extra work. They explicitly decided to make your experience work, which really makes me sad.

But yeah doing this in ORAS was super fun. Blissey bases were the best thing ever. In fact if there was something ORAS nailed was the QoL aspects of raising a team. I hear people saying SWSH are the best but I never bothered to try.

I liked the bush one over the waterfall on route 119. Literally the northernmost part of the map and you need waterfall + an acro bike to reach it. Really made it feel like a SECRET base.
