In Detective Pikachu's Ryme City, Pokémon battles are illegal, but everyone is still allowed to have one Pokémon as a "pet", I guess, that follows you around day-to-day. Who would be your sole partner and how would they help you?

Size doesn't seem to be an issue either. There are Golurk bodyguards outside of the police station just... standing there menacingly.
