Even the human egg group containts exclusives species like Toxicroak and Toxtricity and even something like Mr.Mime is some weird shit if you stop and think about it. Not to mention there's pokemon that have two egg groups. Something like a Gardevoir can reproduce with a cactus-like pokemon, or a bunny-like pokemon, or something that looks like an eel or a slug, or a snail made out of magma, or a living sludge, gases, chandelier or cake. They're very much fantastical in nature.
