Spinarak and Ariados were the only Pokémon in Generation 7 to receive the move Toxic Thread.
>What are Spinarak and Ariados?Spinarak and Ariados are Bug/Poison-type Pokémon released in Generation 2 that are comparable to the real world insect called spider, or perhaps more specifically a tarantula. This ties in with their ability to learn the likes of String Shot, Spider Web, and the aforementioned Toxic Thread, as expected of a poisonous spider/tarantula. This line is thought to rival the Bug/Flying-type Pokémon Ledyba and Ledian that are comparable to the real world insect called ladybug. Spinarak and Ariados can only be caught during the night in Generation 2 while Ledyba and Ledian can only be caught during the morning in Generation 2.
>What are the base stats of Spinarak and Ariados?Spinarak - HP: 40 / Atk: 60 / Def: 40 / Sp. Atk: 40 / Sp. Def: 40 / Speed: 30 / BST: 250
Ariados - HP: 70 / Atk: 90 / Def: 70 / Sp. Atk: 60 / Sp. Def: 70 / Speed: 40 / BST: 400
In Generation 7, Ariados had its Special Defense increased by 10 points raising the stat to 70 and its Base Stat Total to 400.
>What is Toxic Thread?Type: Poison / Category: Status / Base Power: -- / PP: 20

>Why were Spinarak and Ariados given an exclusive Status move when their bulk isn't sufficient to properly exploit Status moves and Ariados' Generation 7 evolution move is Swords Dance? No one currently knows why Spinarak and Ariados were given an exclusive Status move when their bulk isn't sufficient to exploit Status moves and Ariados' Generation 7 evolution move is Swords Dance.
>Why was only Ariados given a useless boost to its Special Defense when it has poor defenses and its Generation 7 evolution move is Swords Dance? No one currently knows why only Ariados was given a useless boost to its Special Defense when it has poor defenses and its Generation 7 evolution move is Sword's Dance.
