Bros shiny hunting is the epitome of autistic behavior, so I'm aware of what I am.

Shinies represent a rare and special occurence in the game, rewarded by a special form (color change) to exhibit your luck or dedication to a hunt.

If they arent rare or special (like the hoards you get in LGPE) then theres no point. They're not real shinies

Fuck actually knows, I remember getting like 35-40 between first lockdown and return to work in the games and a bunch in GO, some new some repeats (fuckloads from CD's for example). Up to 436/890 on my SLD.

Updated to post-Pryce. The numel was a random shiny I found while finishing my Emerald pokedex, been sitting on it until I got to the red gyarados. Next up is horsea/seadra in the Whirl Islands.

I've done a little bit of it myself. Just take your time and don't be shy about resetting the scanner if you just don't feel confident with the shakes you get. I've heard from a few places that spots that are picked outside the grass can have an effect on which pokemon shows up, so try to get as many shaking spots inside the tall grass as you can.

Routes 5 and 7 are the easiest places to use the scanner.
