It's not like team rotation will make the game harder, if anything it will make it easier since you'll be able to stroll up to any gym with a team tailor, made to beat them instead of just toughing it out with your main team that could possibly be very weak to said gym leaders type. Face it, Pokémon is piss easy regardless of how you play it.

Your second point is retarded because the game doesnt incentivize swapping when the best way to play is to find the strongest fuckers and keep them in your party all game, with HM slave slots in early gens. Even with EXP share, your original team takes less effort to keep at level. That's more incentive.

The exp share doesn't help rotating your team.
The new members will never catch up to one that's always in the team.
If the level curve doesn't scale on a team that never rotates it will be too low for these teams.

Also wild Pokémon are always underleveled so you will have to grind anyway, and level up those that don't exp by doing so.

It's a retarded system. No exp share but good ways to train were better for a varied team. A level cap for each badge is the best solution.

The old games just made you grind more for switching your team (I mean, you don't ACTUALLY have to, but it's common prefferance over a heavily underleveled team) and therefore wasting your time doing boring grinding. They were never designed around switching teams.
The new EXP share is designed to lessen grinding, not to make switching teams prefferable. Switching teams is just a harder side option it provides so the game's shitty balance doesn't collapse on itself due to often overpowered EXP share.

N is explicitly shown to be a special case, so that kind of defeats the argument of it being the normal way to play. And rotating one member is different from rebuilding your entire team from scratch between every gym.

The second time I played Gen 6 I tried a rotating team of like 12 mons with the exp share on and surprisingly I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. First time I played SwSh I had maybe 15 Pokemon in rotation by the end, there were alot I wanted to use and I benefited from the Exp Share and optional Exp Candies and I think I like playing this way more than using just 6 or less.

That being said not having the options to turn the Exp stuff off is beyond stupid. I cant wrap my head around why most Nintendo games have little to no options in how you can experience them.

Unpopular opinion but they should get rid of levels altogether or at least make it so that levels don't affect stats.
You'd be a lot more likely to swap out team members and try new random new Pokemon if wild Pokemon weren't so inherently weaker than the ones in your team.

Rotating Pokémon was the only way for the game not to be super easy but that was something I had to do constantly. I wasn’t swapping out because of a cool new Pokémon, it was swapping out because I didn’t want my old Pokémon to be overleveled.

Pokemon will never be a well-designed game unless it's completely rebuilt from the ground-up. The mechanics were basic and outdated in 1998 and they're sure as hell basic and outdated in 2021. Just accept you enjoyed the games when you were young because you didn't know better and the only reason you care about the franchise now is because you have an attachment to it.

They don't have to be rebuilt from the ground up, but they absolutely need to do more to actually attempt to make things challenging and encourage team swapping. The Orre games are a good example of both of these even if it's not perfect, and people have brought up simple solutions, some of which Pokemon has implemented in some way before, as ways to fix things a bit.

You don't need to completely rebuild the system, you need to let gyms and elite four members have full teams with full movepools past midgame. You need to implement some type of exp curve whether it's a soft cap where you earn a lot less EXP more like the Gen 5 games and their EXP curve, or a hard cap where you just outright can't level at a certain point, and then you can just make it fast to level to that point so it's not painful to swap a team member or two around for the next gym. You could also focus on doubles for the entire game because that not only adds a new layer of complexity but it's the official format they allegedly want to promote. You could actually expect the player to be at level 100 by endgame so you can design challenges for them. But despite being the biggest franchise on the planet, Pokemon refuses to grow, and has in fact gotten even simpler, because some retarded phone kids might have to use their brains every now and again.

From region to region maybe but in the same region people have a core team they use the most.

How? A team of 6 is more than capable of taking on any gym. Also switching your Pokemon is a chore. I do switch Pokemon and turn off exp share to make the game more challenging but I feel the game promotes a constant team of 6.

Totally disagree. Look at romhacks like Clover and Gaia, the core pokemon mechanics aren't incompatible with difficulty. They are, however, incompatible with developers who want to make games that a sea anemone wouldn't find challenging.

I'm glad you used Clover as an example. Clover isn't difficult in any meaningful way. Either you catch and train the objectively best mons, or you use what you feel like and for the difficult fights you have to rely on trial and error, essentially learning exactly what the AI is going to do in response to your team. Making the game doubles only could work, but as it stands there needs to be more synergy between mons beyond a few doubles focused moves/abilities.

If you play clover like swsh, you're gonna get fucked because you cant overlevel and the trainers aren't complete push-overs who can be beaten by spamming one move. Having tough battles that will stonewall your team unless you make changes IS what incentivizes swapping members out. There were no difficult battles in swsh I didnt black out once. If you play the game as "intended" and fight in raids and fight all the trainers, the game will get ridiculously easy since you can just us EXP candy, but its not like its necessary since every gym leader can be swept by a single pokemon

I rotated 10 party members (keeping my Starter in permanently) in both ORAS and SS precisely because the exp share made it so easy. In any other game without it, I wouldn't have rotated because that would have required a massive amount of grinding to keep everyone in line. It did help, and none of the things you're bringing up were ever an issue.

your post doesn't make sense. The reason you are switching your mons is because you want everyone to become better. In the older games you NEED to switch so you can still use them. The new Exp Share ruins that because now you don't have to do that, you don't need to prepare, rotate or do anything anymore, because it will happen automatically. Pokemon is getting closer to those mobile RPGs that have an auto-button to do the playing for you, and this is not progression.

I meant ofcourse that you need to rotate if you want to keep a set of playable mons. You can beat the game with one or two, but then you don't need to tell yourself you care for all your Pokemon when you clearly don't, which is what the new exp share tries to imply which is nonsense. And yes exp share existed before but only for one mon at a time.
