Does anybody else not play with pokemon competitively? I have never played pokemon competitively except with my friends a few times for fun. I only battle NPCs, and I pick my team based on the designs I like best, not their stats. Anybody else?

I played on the rated BSS of the 6th and 7th generation and reached 1650+ a couple of times with what others call "shitmons", also a lot of times I used a Kanto-only team to annoy the anti-Genwunner underaged cucks. It was a lot of fun.

I always use mons that I like too, but I play competitively sometimes. Never used mons that I don't like either, turns out that trying to give usage to shitmons that you enjoy competitively gives you a feeling of achievment when it works. I can't understand how can someone battle without liking the mon they're using

I used to dick about with LC in Gen 7 (until they removed my bro Snubbull, which was my main counter to the absolute cancer of Mienfoo/Vullaby), but I never really got into it.
In-game I either build teams around aesthetics/some kind of theme, or I just play Nuzlockes/difficulty hacks if I want something more challenging.

I tried in Gen 6 but I was doing randoms and I played the same team like four or five times in a row and stopped bothering after that. The battling doesn't really interest me when you pull out all the stuff that makes it personal, which is why battle frontiers haven't interested me much.

if it was as easy as just picking some mons and jumping into a que to battle other players but it's just so overly complicated to the point it's just no longer fun
im glad other people enjoy it but i do think of hardcore comp pokemon players as complete faggots

I played against friends when I was a kid, but for me, Pokémon is about living the story and raising the Pokémon I like until I get bored.
